STAY is a campaign to build a kingdom legacy in the heart of Denver for generations to come.
Ten years ago, The Heights began as a handful of people praying for a move of God in downtown Denver. Today we are a church of 2,000 in the heart of the city.
We believe God is not done with our church family. In fact, we believe the most exciting, productive and miraculous days are ahead of us, not behind us. We believe God is calling us to reach and disciple 1% of metro Denver. This is a work that could change not just lives, but the fabric of our city itself.
The vision
A city that thrives because the church stayed.
In Jeremiah 29, God told his exiled people to build houses, plant gardens and pursue the wellbeing of the city where he had placed them, "for when it thrives, you will thrive." That word is our assignment. Denver is not a pit stop on the way to the kingdom. It is the home we have been called to stay in.

2016
Ten people and a dog
A vision out of Habakkuk 2 and a prayer that God would do more than we could ask or imagine. It started as a weekly meeting in an apartment.

2017
Palmer Elementary
The weekly gathering grew until it filled Palmer Elementary School, and we began praying for a stable home in the city that our church could purchase.

2019
1477 Columbine St.
God answered that prayer, and we moved into our own building in the heart of the city.

2021
One service became three
He kept bringing more people through the doors every week. Hundreds decided to follow Jesus for the very first time, and many were sent back out into the city to teach others the same gospel.

2023
Lovewell and a movement of prayer
The Lord began to use our presence in the city to meet the needs of the most vulnerable at scale. One prayer meeting became ten every single week.

Today
2,000 and just getting started
Over 2,000 people now call The Heights home. We are not forcing anything. We are joining what God is obviously doing.
Four assignments
To build a kingdom legacy in Denver, God has given us four assignments.
We need to
rooted in the heart of the city.
Putting down permanent roots downtown is essential to serving Denver for generations. As part of STAY, we hope to purchase the 1390 and 1401 Logan Street properties: a full city block and 80,000 square feet next to the State Capitol.
- Establish a lasting home for our church and a hub for mission in the heart of the city
- Create a Kingdom Coworking space gathering the best kingdom leaders to do the most good for our city
- Give downtown a public witness and "third space" for generations to come
- Provide long-term stability for a growing church family
We need to
disciples, leaders and churches across the metro.
Jesus promised to build his church, and our calling is its increase: reaching and discipling 1% of metro Denver. We will equip a new generation of leaders, campuses and churches carrying The Heights DNA.
- Grow to a church of 6,000 and launch 3 campuses in the next decade
- Develop 100 leaders through internships, apprenticeships and residencies
- Plant 20 churches locally and send 30 long-term missionaries through a new School of Missions
- Launch the City Collaborative to reproduce our DNA in large cities around the world
We need to
the wellbeing of the vulnerable.
Jesus has called us to the work of mercy and justice. We must care for the poor and marginalized (Isaiah 58). Through Renew Denver, we will serve the quartet of the vulnerable in our city.
- Expand Lovewell to serve our unhoused neighbors
- Mobilize our church for adoption and foster care
- Welcome and serve refugees arriving in Denver
- Launch a counseling center to care for mental health in our city
We need to
at the center of it all.
Prayer is the foundation of any movement of God. We will build a movement of prayer in the heart of our city, because before God changes a city, he stirs a people to seek him.
- Build Pray Denver into a city-wide, 24-7 prayer hub downtown
- Unite churches across Denver to seek God on behalf of our city
- Make prayer the first work of everything we build
Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile.

We need you to stay.
We are asking everyone at The Heights to pray, engage and give in new ways during this season. As you consider your part in this vision, ask yourself:
- If someone looked at how I spend my time, my energy and my money, what would they learn about what I truly treasure?
- Does my life look like first generation faith, courageous, sacrificial and wholehearted, or have I settled into the comforts of what others built?
- What difference do I want my commitment to STAY to make in my own heart? Will my giving change me, and root me more deeply in what God is doing for Denver?
